About the Event:
Ethics and compliance are about much more than just rules and regulations. The rules and regulations are, of course, important, but we need to understand how humans think, act and behave relative to the required or desired standards and find ways to effectively engage with people. Simply telling people the law and/or drafting policies that include more defined terms than a dictionary and serve only to blame employees if wrongdoing occurs do little to help employees or the ethics and compliance program; we cannot simply tell people what they should or should not do and we add value when we help people understand how and why we need them to do something. Ethics and compliance can seem like a “scary” or “abstract” concept for many people, so it is key for us as ethics and compliance professionals to be able to explain our program in human, relatable and relevant terms. In this session, we will talk about a variety of different ways in which we can “humanize” ethics and compliance and ensure that your program is employee centric.
